General Information
Flexible heaters are designed to heat surfaces that do not have a fixed geometry. They are produced as a silicone rubber matrix, heating cable or self-regulating tape, and are wrapped around or bonded to surfaces such as pipelines, drums, tank walls, mirrors and composite moulds. The common limit of this family is a low operating temperature — most products work below 200 °C.
Selection Criteria
Surface geometry and mounting method are decisive. Adhesive silicone is preferred for permanent mounting on a fixed surface, heating cable for long runs such as pipelines, and self-regulating cable for frost protection. Self-regulating products automatically increase their resistance and reduce their output as temperature rises; this way they do not burn out even when overlapped.
