General Information
An anti-fog mirror heater is a very low power surface heater formed on aluminium foil or conductive film. Its total thickness is around 0.5 mm and, thanks to its self-adhesive surface, it is bonded directly to the back of the mirror.
The operating principle is simple: fogging occurs because the mirror surface is below the dew point of the room. The heater keeps the glass surface a few degrees above room temperature; water vapour cannot condense and the mirror stays clear. No high power is needed for this — 20–60 W is sufficient for a typical mirror.
The product is usually wired on the same circuit as the bathroom lighting so that it switches on when the light is turned on. It is the standard solution in hotel, hospital and residential applications. It is produced in standard sizes according to mirror dimensions or made to custom size; a clean, degreased mounting surface is important for adhesion life.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, it is bonded directly to the rear surface of the mirror coating. A clean, degreased surface is important for adhesion life.
No. Its power is low and the mirror surface stabilises only a few degrees above ambient temperature. To save energy, it is commonly switched together with the lighting circuit.
